Coaches and the Law: A Study of the Training of Coaches in the United States
Abstract
This study examined the necessity for additional coursework and/or professional development to equip coaches to oversee athletic programs within the purview of complicated regulatory laws and regulations. The research was compiled based upon a case study of a large East Texas high school. Findings indicate that coaches are not as cognizant of sports laws and regulations as they suppose. Implications for policy and practice are identified.Downloads
