Abstract

The main objective of this study was to recognize and analyze the opinions of Shams-i-Tabr?z? about the social institutions of its time based on his personal opinions and thoughts. This paper investigates the relations between Shams ideas and thoughts and Iranian architectural concepts. The current study, using logical reasoning in an inductive approach compares Shams-i-Tabr?z? ideas and thoughts and Iran architectural properties by an introduction to the notion of Shams personality traits. Therefore, first we recognize and investigate the exalted personality of Shams. We are to achieve notions to help us in the process of this study with a proper understanding of Shams personality traits and life style and his view of the universe and the man. Another issue is to study Iranian architecture rooted in culture and history of the land so that to achieve its pure characteristics and the desired results. Finally, providing a comparative pattern, the result would suggest that almost a big part of Shams ideas and thoughts are consistent with the Iranian architecture especially in the Islamic era. This consistency is due to the theoretical foundations of the Iranian architecture derived from the principles of Sufism and Islam. In fact, we can find this adaptation in the ideas of Iranian - Islamic mystics and Iranian - Islamic architecture.
