Information as Determinant of Utilization of Family Planning Services in Rural Akwa Ibom State of South-South Nigeria
Abstract
Sources and nature of family planning information have been found to influence the use of family planning services. Unfortunately, the exact relationships between these variables and family planning utilization are not certain in Nigeria. This paper therefore searches for better understanding of the interrelationships, using rural Akwa Ibom State as the study area. Data analyses show that utilization of family planning information was greatest among respondents who received information from credible sources and those who were exposed to accurate and reliable information. The implications of the findings are discussed and some useful suggestions made.Downloads
