Color Palette of Emily Dickinson Worldview: Linguistic and Literary Approach
Abstract
The main purpose of this article is to reveal the semantic functions of different colors in Emily Dickinson’s creation. Linguistic and literary studies approach is used to conduct a parallel study of writer’s worldview coloring both in poetry and in letters. It comprises a set of theoretical statements, the ranking of preferable colors in Dickinson’s creation. Color description is linked to the traditions of semantic and stylistic analysis of a literary text.Downloads
