A Comparative Analysis of Regulatory Frameworks on Climate Change
Abstract
This paper makes a modest comparison of regulatory interventions on climate change in India, South Africa and the United Kingdom. While India and South Africa, both developing countries are not mandated under the international regulatory frameworks on emissions reduction, the United Kingdom is under obligations to reduce its emissions. It highlights the importance of emissions reduction even by countries not compelled to reduce their emissions and points out what India and South Africa have done in this respect. It identifies lessons to be learnt and concludes that it is the responsibility of everybody, located in countries, with or without obligations to reduce emissions, to tackle global warming and climate change.Downloads
