Religious Pluralism and Sustainable Environment: The Nigerian Situation
Abstract
This paper focuses on the challenges of environmental sustainability in the light of the pluralistic religious nature of Nigeria. Using a critical qualitative analytical method, it was found that respective practices of the major religions in Nigeria-African traditional religion, Christianity and Islam, have been contributing to the deterioration of the natural environment in the country. Hence, the researcher, among other things, recommends a collectively unified religious effort towards the conservation and sustenance of the country’s environment.Downloads
