Abstract

Alienation is a modern and postmodern symptom. The alienation is said to happen due to social, psychological, and economic pressure. It is also appearing as a kind of self-protection or self-accommodation. Our paper will attempt to outline the loss, search, and discovery of one of the most extraordinary characters of Albanian short-story writer Mitrush Kuteli, Tat Tanushi of Bubëtima. Tat Tanushi’s case as an unusual character and individual would narrate to us that to be oneself, we first need to recognize it and, through its reflection, know and accept others. This is an anthropological and philosophical approach that, following the existentialist’s line, would make a circular journey, stepping out of spiritual, moral, and theological isolation.
