Natural and Human Resources that Support the Development of Curative Tourism in Albanian Territories
Abstract
Tourism is one of the main directions of economic development of Albania, Kosovo and other albanian regions. Tourism assets of albanian regions are suitable for the development of diverse tourist activities, among which curative tourism. This paper aims to identify the location, natural features and curative value of thermal and thermal-mineral springs of albanian territories. Human resources that support the development of this kind of tourism are also taken into consideration. The study is based on available publications, fieldwork results, statistical sources and maps have been designed, generating conclusions and suggestions addressed to the heads of local governments, communities and entities that intend to invest in the development of sustainable curative tourism, according to the most successful contemporary models. At a time when tourism is considered as one of the most perspective branches in our region, becomes important the role that curative tourism plays in areas with curative tourism potential. According to the importance that it has, it is necessary to intensify efforts to promote: the enhancement of natural and human resources; policies and strategies for the development of curative tourism; development of curative infrastructure based on European standards; curative values left in limbo; preparation of guides etc.Downloads
