Sociolinguistic Engineering in A Globalised Economy
Abstract
The fact that the world today is becoming a “global village” cannot be overemphasised. Geographical boundaries do not seem to be a hindrance to human interaction. The world seems deterritorialised and decompartmentalised. Can this phenomenal social intercourse be enhanced by linguistic factors? Which language plays what role in this global arena and what is the effect of this phenomenon on global economy? Answers to these questions and more are attempted in this paper.Downloads
