The Effect of Lecturer’s Attitude toward the Performance of Students in Purchasing Management in Ramat Polytechnic Maiduguri

Abstract

The study investigated the indicators of the students’ academic performance in Purchasing Management in Ramat Polytechnic one with a view to finding out ways to improve the students’ performance in purchasing Management. The survey research design was adopted for the study. The sample consisted of three hundred students from the Department of Marketing Ramat Polytechnic Maiduguri. Simple random sampling procedures were used to select 330 respondents used for the study. Structured questionnaire was utilized for the data collection. One research hypotheses was raised and analyzed using simple frequency counts, percentages and chi-square at 0.05 level of significance. Results of the findings revealed that the lecturer’s attitude affects the students’ performance in Purchasing Management TR HPO 1(cal.X2= 440 82 Table value = 36.42, df= 24, P<0.05 ST HPO 1: Cal. X2= 285.8, Table = 26.30, df= 12, P<0.05). The hypothesis was tested at 0.05 alpha levels. In conclusion, it was shown that lecturers’ attitude, availability and usage of instructional materials and students’ attitude are some of the indicators of the performances of students in Purchasing Management.
