Immediately after the proclamation of Shar Mountain as a protected area in 2021, the ecological, socio-cultural, and economic importance of Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) attracted the attention of professionals, civil society organizations, and especially local stakeholders. In the current context of implementing the Management Plan for Shar Mountains National Park for 2022-2031, it becomes urgent to recognize and quantify the ecological importance of NTFPs. This approach will enhance the sustainability of the park’s ecosystem while supporting the livelihoods of local communities. Furthermore, engaging local stakeholders in this process will be crucial to developing effective conservation measures and foresting community support for the park’s long-term goals.
